Dr. Patrick R. Liverpool

Biography

Dr. Patrick R. Liverpool is well known and respected for his strong work ethic, intellectual acumen, diplomacy, and his ability to drive initiatives to full and complete implementation. A Fulbright scholar (Germany), Dr. Liverpool earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and his Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from Kent State University. He has a diploma in Labour and Cooperation from the Afro-Asian Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel, and participated in executive management programs at Harvard University and Harvard Business School.

In 2005, Dr. Liverpool retired from Delaware State University as Dean and MBNA America Professor of the School of Management (now College of Business.) During that time, Dr. Liverpool worked to secure a $2.5 million grant to support the School’s AACSB International accreditation. Prior to Delaware State, Dr. Liverpool served with distinction in numerous academic leadership roles at several notable institutions of higher learning, including Vice Provost for University Outreach and International Programs at Virginia Tech, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at North Carolina A&T State University, and Dean of the Schools of Business at both Virginia State University and Virginia Union University. Prior to his administrative responsibilities, he served as a Professor of Management at Fisk University, University of Toledo, and Howard University. Since his retirement, Dr. Liverpool has served as Interim Dean of Florida A&M University School of Business and Industry, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost of Fisk University, Interim Provost at Central State University in Ohio, Interim Dean for the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University, and Provost at University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Last academic year, 2019-2020, he was the Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at North Carolina Central University

Dr. Liverpool has served on numerous academic and non-academic boards including the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the Christian Children’s Fund (now Child Fund International), and Virginia Blood Services. He was the Chair and Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Authority of Henrico County, Virginia.  Additionally, he previously served on the Governor of Delaware’s Strategic Economic Council.
